George School Students Mix It up Day 2.0
To celebrate the end of our Random Acts of Kindness Week, George School students participated in our Second Mix it Up Day. The children enjoyed sitting at different lunch tables, and making conversation and new friends with students outside their class and grade. This weeks activities gave the students so many opportunities to show their Best self and to demonstrate what a George School student really is! We are very proud of you! Special thanks to Mrs. Rachel Guyt , our school counselor for creating these community building opportunities.

Staying Healthy this Season
Please refer to the Flu Prevention Notice issued by Dr. Gonzalez from the Nursing Department for common sense ways to stay healthy and to support our in school healthy habit efforts. Thank you to the parents that have sent in extra wipes and sanitizer for our classrooms. Additionally, please contact the George School absentee line daily with a specific reason for absences. And of course, it goes without saying (but I will anyway) that if your child is absent from school due to illness, please keep them home from after school activities also. Stay well and be healthy!

Following in the Footsteps of Heroes Continues!
Fun projects, lunchtime social time, collaboration with peers, and more!!! Mrs. Patterson (5th Grade) and Mrs. Bruno (Social Skills) are continuing their program - “Following in the Footsteps of Heroes” within the upcoming weeks. Students in grade 5 have the opportunity to spend some of their lunchtime to explore topics of philanthropy, caring, and helping others. Projects are geared towards enriching these ideas through artistic activities, expanding their knowledge base, and creating projects based upon their own ideas that will be moving forward into the spring. Since this is a voluntary initiative, all fifth graders are welcome! Our projects are often shared with the entire school, such as our dedicated Rock Garden will be revisited in the spring. Look out for other future activities that you may be asked to participate in. For example, our Seeing Eye project last school year was a school wide one!
