Human Rights Watch

Vietnam's human rights are doing poorly in all areas of it. There is no challenge to its leadership and basic rights like freedom of speech, opinion, press, association, and religion are restricted. Bloggers and Rights Activists can face harassment, inprisonment, assult, and intimidation. Police might use beatings and torture to extract confessions. People cannot do a lot of things without being punished in some way.
