Parent Conferences

Parent Conferences will be held on December 16th from 4-6:30pm. I will be meeting with individual family's during this conference. Unfortunately, due to the time constraint, I will not be able to meet with every family so conferences will be prioritized based upon need. If you would like to request a conference you can complete the form at I will conduct individual conferences again next marking period and then have student led conferences in the last marking period.

Thursday Notes!

A school goal at Shields this year is to improve communication between home and school and Thursday Notes was an action plan to reach this goal. Sending these notes is not working for me as I want my communication to be authentic! I want you to know right away when your child did something amazing or when I am concerned about something that occurred. I find ClassDojo an easy way for me to send you immediate messages as well as emails.

So beginning this week, I will not be sending home Thursday notes. Instead, my goal is to communicate at least once a week to share with you something about your child. So while you won't get a "Thursday Note" you will get a personal message at least once a week, if not more.

If you are not receiving ClassDojo messages and prefer only email, please let me know! I want to be sure that you are receiving all messages.

"Code Stars" - Short Film
Every year my class participates in The Hour of Code! This event is taking place next week.

During this event, students learn about computer coding. We will be participating in opportunities to practice coding in CAP and we will also be spending a half hour on Wednesday through Friday teaching Kindergarteners how they can practice coding too.

You can join in the fun at home by visiting The Hour of Code and Code.Org
