A Note from the principal
Hello Easley Families,
It was brought to my attention that there was some kind of glitch in the school messenger system and not all families received the phone calls and emails that were sent out over the past two weeks. We think that it is now worked out and all families should be back to receiving both an email and phone call. Please be reminded that I always post the newsletters on the school Facebook page and Easley website in addition to the phone calls and emails.
I'm reaching out today with a technology update. As we prepare for Plan C and, the first nine weeks of school with remote instruction, we want to make sure your child has the tools they need to be successful. Unfortunately, there will be a significant delay in the delivery of the additional laptops we were expecting, making the 1:1 deployment not possible at this time. Therefore, first priority will be given to students who do not have access to a device at home. Each student will need a device to actively participate in remote learning. High-speed Wi-Fi connection obtained either at home (preferred for the best study setting) or via an outside source, such as the community pod, etc.
If you do not have access to a device, our school will be deploying Chromebooks on August 13th and 14th. Please take a moment and complete the following survey indicating your technology needs. We are asking every parent to complete this survey by the end of the day tomorrow. I realize this is a very quick turnaround time but we just received this information yesterday afternoon and are now trying to plan accordingly.
Our school will post a virtual Open House on Friday, August 14th to share more information about the school year and all of the wonderful things we have planned for your child. Details for viewing our virtual Open House will be on the Easley website and School Facebook page. A link will also go out in the Sunday Principal's Update on the 16th.
We look forward to supporting you and welcoming your child to the new school year. The next Principal's Update, including the Welcome Back Letter, will go out this Sunday, August 9th at the usual evening time. This will include schedule details, meet the teacher information, laptop deployment instructions, and more.
