NUCLEAR NAVIGATORS
Genesis Innovation Academy and the American Nuclear Society at GA Tech have formed a partnership to provide GIA scholars (in grades 5-8) with mentors to navigate/explore the various pathways & multi-faceted world of nuclear energy and other related fields.
A Meet & Greet session for scholars will take place Thursday, February 20th at 4:00 pm in the GIA cafeteria.
All scholars in grades 5-8 are encouraged to attend the Meet & Greet session. If your scholar is interested in participating in the Nuclear Navigators program, more details will be provided to you.
Canned Soup Drive (through Feb. 21st)
As we continue to honor the legacy of service of Dr. Martin Luther King Day Jr. AND exemplify the February Core Value of Empathy, GIA will partner with the Souper Bowl of Caring to host a Canned Soup Drive to benefit The Nicholas House (provider of emergency housing for homeless people/families) and the Scottdale Early Learning Center (provider of daycare services for low-income and moderate-income families).
Please have your scholar donate at least one can of soup (by Friday, Feb. 21st) to fight food insecurity in Georgia.
Our goal is to collect at least 500 cans of soup (that's 250 cans from the Boys Academy and 250 cans from the Girls Academy) to donate to both organizations. A collection bin will be setup at the entrance of each Academy.
