By: Brooke and Anna
Location
This group is located in the second column on the left.
Physical Properties
The properties that are shared by the group are, the color of silver, and higher densities than alkali metals.
Valence Electrons
The group of alkaline-earth Metals has 2 valence electrons.
Reactivity
This group is very reactive but less reactive than alkali metals.
Additional Facts
It is very difficult for these atoms to give two electrons rather than one when joining together. The group of alkaline-earth metals contains, Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium, Radium. Compounds of Calcium are usually found in cement, chalk, and even you! Calcium also keeps your bones and teeth healthy. Magnesium can easily be mixed wit other metals as well.
