AHS Theater Presents: Shooting Stars
Shooting Stars
Ashland High School Theatre collaborates with OSF veterans
to present Shooting Stars, a dive into America in 1962
and its first all-female traveling basketball team.
The student ensemble cast includes Nicky Clary, Carmen Kerr, Allie Poole, Samara French, Brooklyn Williams, Anabella Ross, Elena Schmeling, Anabella Ross, and Kylah Ward.
*
Ashland High School Theatre opens their 2018 season and the 25th Anniversary of their OSF/AHS Partnership with a delightful comedy directed by OSF actor Barret O'Brien.
Shooting Stars by Molly Newman will play 8 shows:
Thurs-Sat, Nov 1-3 & Nov 8-10 @ 7:30 pm
Sundays, Nov 4 and 11 @ 2 pm.
The time is 1962; the place is a locker room in a small Midwestern town; the team is The Shooting Stars, a novelty all-female basketball team. As The Shooting Stars prepare to face off against the local men's team, the young women emerge as distinct personalities who reveal the lives they’ve abandoned to join the traveling team. The entrance of the team's male owner, creates a stir as he oversees every aspect of the women’s lives: from diet to hair style, from the language they’re allowed to use to the way they’re allowed to play the game. But when an unexpected event changes everything, the women are given the chance to chart their own destiny—forced to choose between abandoning the sport that they love or rising into the groundbreakers that they are capable of becoming.

Join the Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument as we celebrate
National Public Lands Day 2018!
This year, we will work together to reconstruct a livestock fence around Shoat Springs. The original fence was destroyed in the Oregon Gulch Fire in 2014. Our efforts to repair this barrier will support healthy riparian habitat both at the Springs and down-stream. These riparian areas will then go on to provide habitat for a diverse array of mammals, birds, insects, amphibians, and more.
This event will involve challenging physical labor. Please come prepared. We will be working rain or shine!
Register at: www.cascadesiskiyou.org At the drop-down menu, go to Events /Calendar of Events, and scroll down to Monument Public Lands Day. Click on “Register Here” and follow RSVP to checkout instructions and information required to register.

Calling All Senior Parents and Guardians
It time to start planning the 2019 Senior All Night party!
Each year, the senior class’ parents organize an amazing all-night event following graduation. This party provides a safe venue for our graduates to celebrate their successes and have one final moment with their entire class. There are lots of ways to get involved and we can use the assistance of every senior family.
It is an enormous undertaking to throw a celebration for 200+ graduates, but many hands make light work. Please come to this meeting to provide your input, join a committee, and have a lot of fun with a great group of parents!
When: Wednesday, October 24, 7:00
