From the Heart
Team,
Hope everyone has had time to enjoy the beautiful weather! Tomorrow we begin the last week of April. Wow!
Here are your tasks that need to be finished by 4pm tomorrow, Monday, April 27. (For those of you that have no idea what month, week, or day it is!)
1. Fill out the WebEx hours spreadsheet. Do not worry about not using WebEx for classes, just put down if and when you use it, if you do. (to reach students, not PLC or Staff meetings). Then list all the other things you do to reach students.
2. Fill out your time to come clean out your room. I have given you a choice of 9 different days. March 4 - 8 and March 11 - 14. Please limit two people in a hallway at a time. Feel free to sign up for as many times as you need.
Don't forget to start your leadership study below!
See you tomorrow at 10:20am for CA staff meeting!
Stay Well!
Always Grateful,
Bobbe

5. A pat on the back is all you need
Leadership without Presumption: Lessons from Eisenhower by Samuel Bacharach
Lesson 1 Don't take yourself seriously
Eisenhower said, "Always take your job seriously, never yourself. "His first priority was getting the job done, and he knew that humor helped. He said, "A sense of humor is part of the art of leadership, of getting along with people, of getting things done."
Leaders need to be serious and focused when pushing agendas, but they must have a sense of humor through the process. Humor helps deal with the inevitable roadblocks.
Reflect: (start a document for this study for reflection). We will use your insights and ideas as we create our goals for next year's Collegiate Academy Ultimate Student Success)
Do you agree or disagree with Eisenhower? Why?
How can you incorporate his idea of not taking yourself seriously, but taking your job to educate our students seriously? What does that look like in your classroom?
What are the roadblocks in education and how can humor overcome the them?
Lauren's Learnings
Happy Sunday!
We are doing an amazing job of keeping our checklists simple and easy to use! This week in PLC we will look at the design of our checklist templates with an aim to engage more students by having a more accessible checklist (less clicks to get from content to turn in). We have five weeks of instruction remaining. How can we move kids from getting by to getting better in their learning during school closure?
Pathways teachers - please make sure to check on students early this week to to see if they need to drop a course. Freshmen and sophomore drops will be housed in this spreadsheet for Riley to have easy access to. Please try to have this list completed (for the most part) prior to Freshmen PLC on Tuesday as Riley will give us more information regarding drops that day.
See you tomorrow!
Lauren
