Counseling Small Groups
Students may participate in small group counseling throughout the year in our lunch bunch groups or our counseling small groups. Lunch bunch groups will meet during your student’s lunch time with other students in their grade level. During these groups we will be getting to know one another and working on social emotional competence skills. These skills include self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and responsible decision making.
Small group counseling involves meeting with a group of students for approximately six to eight weeks. During these groups, we expand on skills that we teach in our classroom lessons and practice social skills. We’ll cover topics such as friendship, anxiety, managing our emotions, conflict resolution, positive self talk, and making good choices. If you have questions about small group counseling, please contact Mrs. Heinle (K,1 Counselor) or Mrs. McGhee (2-4 Counselor).
Lunch Bunch Topics:
Kindergarten-Successful Learning Behaviors
1st Grade- Feelings
2nd Grade - Listening Skills
3rd Grade-Organizational Skills
