Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
November 11, 2022
We had a great week at Lutherville Laboratory. Thank you to all who participated in the PTA meeting on Thursday evening. We have many great events in the works for the community! Our Read-A-Thon is also still going strong -- please encourage your children to keep up the great work with their reading and join us next Wednesday for our final Read-Aloud, next Wednesday at 7:00 on Google Meets using the Join Code: LLReadAloud. If you need help logging in on a home computer, use these directions.
This week our academic teachers engaged in grade level data meetings to analyze student performance and instructional strengths and next steps to serve our students well. I continue to be so impressed with their reflection and dedication to their craft. We are so fortunate to have the professional, skilled teaching staff we have here at Lutherville! Additionally, on Thursday afternoon, our School Improvement Team met to check-in on our School Progress Plan, make sure we were on track and consider how we can continue to do better. The culture of continuous improvement is certainly alive and well here at The Lab.
American Education Week is next week. We are grateful to have the opportunity to welcome parents into our classrooms. Due to spacing limitations, please limit to up to two (2) guests per child. More information is below.

Alternate Visits: If you are unable to attend the designated timeframe, but wish to visit your child's class, please contact your child's teacher to request and alternate classroom visit. Visits are encouraged, but in accordance with BOE Policy and Superintendent's Rule 1240, we pre-arrange these visits so that they do not interfere with classroom activities. Thank you for your understanding.
Green Duck Patrol is on a roll!
Exceptional environmental education is a hallmark of what makes Lutherville Lab who we are, and we are so glad to have our Green Duck Patrol back on the prowl to make sure we're doing our best.
Has you child's class earned their Green Duck???
COVID Notices -- Update
"BCPS will eliminate COVID notices for individual cases and only issue notifications to the community when there is an outbreak, beginning on Monday, November 14. This aligns with August 2022 guidelines from the CDC and reflects an appropriate public health response. To ensure full transparency about the occurrence of COVID in BCPS, Health Services staff will continue to report all reported cases on the COVID dashboard, which will continue to be updated weekly."
"The Great Giving of Thanks", sponsored by the PTA
Coming home in the students' green folders next week will be details about our 2nd annual opportunity to give thanks for our amazing LL teachers and staff.
- LL students, alumni, parents, families and caregivers are invited to color and create thank you cards, notes and pictures.
- We simply ask that the contributions not be addressed to specific people - our goal is to make them general enough that we can use them whenever, wherever and for whomever we'd like throughout the year.
- Sample cards will be sent home with students who can complete these any time at home.
- These cards plus any additional ones families would like to create can be sent back in an envelope marked "PTA" by Fri Dec 2nd.
- Additionally we invite you to join us in person for a card making event on Saturday, Nov 19th from 2:30-4:30 pm in the Learning Garden (back of the school) (rain date of Sunday, Nov 20th). Supplies will be provided, however we greatly welcome your donation of any extra stickers, markers and other craft supplies you have at home.
Questions can be directed to our PTA Hospitality Chair Lisa Reagle, reaglelisa@gmail.com, (919) 618-0535. Thank you for your support!
