November 10th Early Dismissal Reminder

This Wednesday, November 10, is an Early Dismissal day in District 45. Middle school students begin the day at the regular 8:30 a.m. start time and are dismissed at 12:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch is still available for all students on Early Dismissal days.

First Quarter Digital Report Card Access

Your child's 1st quarter digital report card is ready for family access. Students and parents/guardians have been able to access the report card, since November 1, using the following steps:
  • Log into the PowerSchool portal
  • Select "Report Cards" on the left-hand side
  • Select "2021-2022 Q1"

2021 Parent-Teacher Conferences

District 45 will be hosting online parent-teacher conferences on November 22 and 23. Below are the conference session times available for each day:

  • November 22: 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. & 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  • November 23: 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. & 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Parents/guardians will be able to sign up for conferences by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal and using PowerPTC, the online conference scheduling tool. The scheduling window for parents will be open from noon on November 12 until noon on November 16.

Please be sure you can access the PowerSchool Parent portal prior to November 12. These directions step you through the process of signing up for conferences. If you need assistance accessing the Parent Portal, please contact our main office at 630-516-7600.

PTA Spirit Wear Store

Visit the new spirit wear store today! Masks are back along with a variety of new items & youth sizes. The store closes November 15, so items can be delivered by Winter Break. When ordering, please put your child's name in the Customer line. If you are ordering a gift or want the order to be a surprise, please contact to make arrangements.

Committee Opportunities

Any parent is encouraged to join one of our committees. Stop in for a few minutes during our next PTA Zoom meeting or contact the PTA with questions. The following committees are available for interested parents: Book Fair, Box Tops/Amazon Smile, Spirit Wear, Giving Garden, Yearbook, 8th Grade, Math Contest, Fundraising, and the Jackson/Jefferson Collaboration Committee.

Water Bottle Reminder

We want to remind families that students should bring a personal water bottle to school. Water bottles may be filled at water fill stations. Water fountains are not available. Other drinks and snacks are not allowed outside of lunch periods.

PowerSchool Parent Portal

PowerSchool is a proactive communication tool parents/guardians can use to stay informed about their child’s academic and work habits progress in school. Please click on this PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Quick Guide link for more information about how to navigate the PowerSchool portal. There is a mobile app version of the PowerSchool Portal for families. The interface of the mobile app is slightly different from the web version. If you experience any difficulties accessing PowerSchool, please email Mrs. Aparicio, the Jackson secretary who oversees PowerSchool. Her email address is


A friendly reminder that it is the responsibility of a parent/guardian to contact Jackson in the event his/her child will be absent from school. Please plan to report your child’s absence, prior to 9:00 a.m., by calling our attendance line at 630-516-7368. Parents/guardians will leave a voicemail reporting their child’s absence. In the voicemail, please include the following information:

  • Child’s name and grade level

  • Date of absence

  • Reason for absence

Student absenteeism should be kept to the minimum; however, the School Board recognizes that some absences are unavoidable. The following are valid causes for a student's absence and will be considered “excused,” as specified in Section 26-2a of the Illinois School Code:

  • Illness

  • Observation of a religious holiday

  • Death in the immediate family

  • Family emergency

  • Other situations approved by the school principal
