Virtual Job Fair May 26th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm - Seniors, Register Now!
Seniors, if you don’t have a plan after graduation, attend this Virtual Job Fair!
We are offering a virtual event for our graduating seniors who may not already have a plan for their next step that would like to go to work. This event is a collaboration through our Top of Virginia Regional Chamber Workforce committee. Students will register and can select which companies they would like to participate in a virtual interview with. This event is specific to only graduating seniors in Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren and Shenandoah Counties, so participating companies are aware they are talking to graduating seniors and are only addressing entry level positions right now. As of last week, the following are the participating businesses.
Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury
Frederick County Sheriff's Office
Continental
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (Loudoun Locations)
The Home Depot
Virginia Career Works/Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board
Covenant Building Maintenance, Inc.
Wire-it Electrical services and testing
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26
County of Frederick, VA
Riddleberger Brothers, Inc.
Grafton Integrated Health Network
Atlantic Construction Company, LLC
Winchester Tool

Winchester Rotary Club Holding Memorial Day Event at JHHS
Dear Handley Neighbors and Families,
The Winchester Rotary Club has been granted usage of the east playing field, in front of John Handley High School for their 2021 Healing Field of Honor project/event (HFOH) that will take place over Memorial Day weekend. This is NOT a JHHS-sponsored event; WPS has granted the Rotary Club permission to use our property. We want to make our neighbors aware of this planned event.
Explanation of Event: Approximately 500 American Flags will be placed displaying patriotism and unity for our country in the grassy area in front of Handley High School fronting Valley Avenue. Like all Rotary club endeavors, this is a fundraiser for our Winchester community -- funds generated go right back into our community to help those most in need in our community.
Timeline:
From Tuesday, May 25 to Thursday afternoon, May 27, the Rotary Club volunteers will be field marking, installing the flags, setting up a stage, welcome tent, etc.
On Thursday, May 27, from 2 to 8 PM, the HFOH will be open for Visitors with Opening Ceremony occurring at 6 to 6:45 PM; This will include a military aircraft flyover as well as a professional skydiver.
