6th grade RELA classes participated in a Shark Tank Simulation. Shark Tank is a popular TV series where entrepreneurs get funding to bring their dreams to fruition by pitching themselves and their product to a group of investors ready to invest in the next best thing, known as "The Sharks". The kids were put into teams to create a new product and went head-to-head against their own classmates. The winners of each class were then put in the “Shark Pit” to pitch their winning product to the “Sharks”. In the end, the winners of Shark Tank Simulation were:

1st place: Jacob Scott & Logan Kelly with Smart Pet

2nd place: Emma Pasho & Raven Nelson with Pickup Pup

3rd place: Diego Fernandez & Michael Doucet with The Safe Bundle

Pre-ACT Information

Humble ISD will offer the Pre-ACT to interested 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Students may select either Kingwood High School or Summer Creek High School as a test site.

As the PSAT does for the SAT, the Pre-ACT simulates the ACT testing experience within a shorter period of time on all four ACT test subjects - English, Math, Reading, and Science. It will help students to identify their academic strengths and areas for improvement. The Pre-ACT also contains an interest inventory that provides students with a personalized view of interests with college and career alignment.

Students will register and pay ($20) for exam online - Registration Link . Registration opens on February 1, 2019.

Although we'd want to encourage students to take the Pre-ACT without accommodations, accommodations will be provided by request and will be limited to only extended time and frequent breaks. The exam will last approximately 2.5 hours - all students will be dismissed at the same time and may expect to leave by 11:30 a.m.
