Background information
- Emeril Lagasse was born on October 15, 1959, in the small town of Fall River, Massachusetts, where he was raised by his French-Canadian father, Emeril Jr., and his Portuguese mother, Hilda.
- While working at a Portuguese bakery, Lagasse developed a mind for cooking. In 1973, he enrolled in the culinary arts program at Diman Vocational High School.
- Also a talented percussionist, Lagasse led the high school drum squad, playing at dances, banquets and numerous local religious festivals.
- Lagasse was offered a full scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music but turned it down to follow his true love which was food.
Mr.Lagasse's career
Emeril is a very busy chief because he is not only a chief but he is also a tv star and a salesman.
Opened his first restaurant in 1990 in New orleans called Emerils' that was a huge hit and was rewarmed the restaurant of the year.
Three years later he published his firs cook book called Emeril's New New Orleans Cooking in 1993.
He also started making cooking shows, his first two failed but then one, 1995 series Essence of Emeril immediately struck a cord with viewers. It was proclaimed to be one of the top ten shows on television. This skyrocketed his fame and success now he was a world wide known chief.
He also has his line of cooking ware that does really well, like who wouldn't want to cook on what emeril uses hes the king isn't he?
Personal life style
Lagasse was a very hard worker and very talented at whatever he put his mind too, Lagasse replaced Paul Prudhomme as executive chef of the famed New Orleans restaurant Commander's Palace. This was such a massive task that it even put a strain on his reationship with his wife, they divorced in 1986. his worked completely consumed him and that is why he is so good at it. The restaurant he fist worked in was amazed by his work effort, he thinks its easy to be good at something if you love it and he loved cooking more then anything.
Secrets to his success
The secret to his success was his true love for the industry he was in, cooking was alway in his family and it grew apart of him. through this head strong mind set he sent him self to the tippy top of the food industry.
