MYES Fall Festival
Hearing and Vision Screenings
Hearing and Vision Screening will take place on Monday, October 30th and Tuesday, October 31st, for all students in kindergarten (if not screened in pre-kindergarten), 1st grade, and new enterers to the Maryland public school system.
Maryland State Law mandates this screening. Parents/guardians who have an objection to this screening based on their church or religion practices must submit a request for their child to be exempt from screening. All written requests must be submitted to the health room asap. Please make sure if your child wears glasses or contacts that they have them on the screening days. If you have any questions, please contact the health room at 240-236-1880.
School Attendance for 2023-2024
FCPS attendance policies will be fully implemented and parent notification will be sent for any student who is on track to becoming or is already deemed chronically absent or tardy. Notification will begin at 5 days and when a student accumulates 10 or more absences within the school year. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason- both lawful and unlawful. This amounts to 18 absences total in a single school year.
Maryland Law requires that a written excuse be provided each time that your child is absent. The excuse should include the date of the absence, your child’s first and last name, and the reason for the absence. Please either send in a handwritten note or you can email MYES.Attendance@fcps.org.

Run for Education
Our goal this year is $25,000! Please visit our page at: Welcome to Myersville.myfunrun.com to make donations, view the progress, leaderboard, and prizes. This year, if as a school, we meet our $25,000 goal, all students will receive a one hour play pass to Fourth Dimension!
Also, we are more than happy to accept checks, please make them payable to MYES PTA and send them in with your student in an envelope labeled “Run For Education”, the student’s name and teacher. We will post the checks directly to your student on the website.
