Swansboro High School
Weekly Updates - August 14, 2022
It was a great week at Swansboro High School! We welcomed the Class of 2026 at 9th grade orientation on Thursday and kicked off athletics with scrimmages. Our Class of 2023 marshals met to plan homeroom lessons and painted the anchor at our entrance which will become an annual marshal tradition starting with their class.
Our teachers and staff will return this Thursday and begin preparing to welcome students for the first student day on Monday, August 29, 2022. This week will also include the opening of our fall athletic season. Athletics this week will include tennis at Laney and volleyball and soccer at home on Tuesday. Volleyball will host Havelock on Wednesday. Tennis will host Jacksonville, JV football will host East Carteret and volleyball will travel to Jacksonville on Thursday. Varsity football will travel to East Carteret and cross country to Croatan on Friday. Soccer will host the Battle at the Beach on Friday and Saturday. Parents are reminded that purchasing a Century Club pass is the most economical way to attend home athletic events at both Swansboro Middle and Swansboro High School. They can be purchased online or in our front office. Century Club members should note that we have a new parking area for home varsity football games. Century Club members will have priority parking in the senior parking lot for these games.
Parents and students should also be aware of the new traffic flow on our campus. The North Carolina Department of Transportation has received funding for a stop light for the second entrance to Swansboro High School on Queens Creek Road. We are working on a tutorial to help students and parents understand the new traffic pattern and you can expect to receive this by next Sunday. In the meantime, you should note the new 4 way stop sign and be aware that you can only turn right onto Queens Creek Road while exiting our campus at the first entrance.
Open house will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 12-1 pm or 4-6 pm. Parents and students should note that we have a revised bell schedule for 22-23.
