Ferson Creek eNews

The Final 2020-2021 Edition - May 28, 2021

From the Principal...Kristy McKnight

As the year has come to an end, reflection is at the forefront of my mind. At my last leadership meeting with a group of staff members, we shared all of the practices that we want to take into next school year with us. In a year that has been full of so much unknown and new, there was an incredible list of of things that staff found value and success in through the year. As we looked at the list, I couldn't help but share how proud I was of the teachers and their students. We took a year with so many ups and downs and turned it into a full page list of things we need to keep doing in the future. My hope is that we are able to shift our perspective on our school year from focusing on what was lost and instead shine a light on all of the things that went well. That list, the one that focuses on our successes, is exhaustive. As you reflect on this school year, I challenge you to answer the question "what can we celebrate?" Then, share all of those celebrations with your children who have shown their resiliency and that they truly embody the Ferson motto of being Kind, Respectful, Learners.

I hope your summer is filled with smiles, laughter and fun!

Take care,

Kristy McKnight
