Getting To Know Me
by Sis. Shannon Pulley
Hello, my name is Minister Karen Battie. I am a married woman of God with 3
beautiful children; Krystal is 30, Brittney is 24, and Jasmine is 19, and I have 3
grandchildren. My husband is Elder Cleavon Battie. I am from Bossier City,
Louisiana. I’ve been at New Beginning International Ministries for 3 months.I am
active in the Women’s Ministry, Admin Staff, teen ministry, and the choir. I
served 10 years in the United States Army. I went to school and
pursued a degree in Mental Health. My hobbies are reading, shopping, and
traveling. My aspiration is to be blessed, to be a blessing to others, and to become
everything that God has destined me to be.
In Case You Missed It...
Yesterday's message, given by Apostle Daniels, was How to get perfect peace in the time of turmoil, when things aren't going well, and when your mind is in chaos. The scripture texts that he used were Isaiah 26:1-5 concentrating on verse 3.
"In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust."
Perfect peace will give you the ability to stay calm in the midst of the storm. It's God's responsibility to give you peace during the trial, but it is your responsibility to stay focused on Him and trust in Him.
The word keep means to guard. Perfect in Hebrew means peace therefore you have been given double peace to keep your heart and your mind. Having this peace also means having perfect health and a relationship with tranquility. Your mind is your imagination and to stay is to rest in God, so... GO TO SLEEP in the midst of your storm.
Apostle Daniels also came from Philippians 4:7: " And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." God will bypass your understanding and give you peace.
Other scripture references you can meditate and study on are: Psalms 56:3; Colossians 3:15, and Psalms 3:4-5.

Spiritual Nugget: Love
Love is more than just words or emotion, it s something you do. If love were just an emotion, then God couldn’t command it. However, it can produce emotion. The Bible says, “Let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions” (1 John 3:18). So in 2016, let’s be the people that Love, Not just in words and emotions, but in our actions.
