Happy Women’s History Month.


Time is moving fast. The 3rd Marking period ends on March 24. That is just over two weeks away. Now would be a great time to check in with your child(ren) and their teachers.


Reminder! Monday, March 13 is a Teacher-In Service Day. There will be no school.

Walk In Wednesdays

Today, I’m holding Walk-In Wednesday office hours until 1 p.m. If you have questions or want to chat about anything related to CUSD, please stop by Chester High School.

CUSD Names New Varsity Football Coach

We are excited to officially announce that Dennis Shaw has been named Head Coach for the Chester Clippers Varsity football team.


Since joining the coaching staff in 2015, Coach Shaw has held several positions including being the head coach for junior varsity and most recently serving as assistant head coach.

We are excited to have him leading our team and look forward to him continuing the winning culture and creating new opportunities for our student-athletes.

STEM Academy 2023-2024 Application

The new student application for the 2023-2024 school year at STEM Academy is here. We encourage prospective students to submit applications by March 31st, 2023.

Now Enrolling! Design Thinking Digital Academy

Learning doesn’t just take place in person. Cyber school is available.


CUSD’s Design Thinking Digital Academy has two cyber options for students to enroll.


This is a great alternative for students who prefer to learn at home.

Homecoming 2023

It’s never too early to start planning for the best homecoming in the Tri-State area. This year Homecoming will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Donations Needed!

With prom season approaching, we are asking the community to donate formal attire to help students.


Slightly worn or new Prom Gowns and Tuxedos are needed.


If you’re able to help, please drop off your donation to Ms. King at Chester High School by March 24.

Prom Wear Giveaway

If there is any student in need of formal wear, Chester High School will be hosting a “Prom Wear Giveaway.”


This giveaway is open to all CUSD students who are planning to attend this year’s prom.

Black History Events

All of our schools held public Black History Month celebrations or programs in February to highlight influential African Americans and their achievements/impact.


Kudos to the students and everyone who helped to put on productions at their school.

Toby Farms Honors More Than 80 Students for 2nd Marking Period

Toby Farms recently held a recognition ceremony to celebrate more than 80 students for various achievements during the 2nd marking period.


We are proud of our students for continuing to excel in academics and leadership areas.

Chester Pearls Foundation Scholarship

The Chester Pearls Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications.


Graduating seniors who live in Delaware County are eligible to apply. The deadline is April 17.


Students and parents can always visit the district’s website for updated scholarship opportunities. We have a special section on the site dedicated exclusively to scholarship opportunities.

Happening in 2 DAYS! Talent Showcase

STEM and CHS’ Talent Showcase featuring staff and students is 2 days away.


This will be a fun event for the entire family. Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

Career Readiness Day

Parent University in collaboration with EDSI Delco is hosting a “Career Readiness Day” on March 14.


Students, parents, guardians, and members of the community are encouraged to come out.

Sessions will take place in the morning and evening, and will focus on:

✔️ Mock Interviews

✔️Career Exploration


Be sure to mark your calendars and attend if you’re interested.

COMING UP! Oratorical Contest & Art Competition

The Annual Frederick Douglass Oratorical Contest and the Andrew Turner Art Competition are coming up.

Students in all grades are encouraged to sign up and participate. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. on March 29 at STEM Academy.
