Important Reminders
- Homework this week: Math and spelling, both due on Friday. There is no reading homework since students need to study for their science test on Thursday.
- April book orders are due by Thursday, April 27th online only please. You can order online with Scholastic and the code to help our class earn books is NDJXN. Thank you to all who have ordered so far this school year!
- If you would like an April math practice packet (there are different questions in it than in Feb. and Mar.), please send me a message and I will send one home.
- Thank you to our parent chaperones last week on the field trip. That was our final field trip of the year! In May, students can look forward to Field Day (date to be determined), school-wide movie day, the last day of school party.
- Looking ahead - MAP testing will occur on May 4 and May 5. The students are familiar with this computer test and it will be able to show their progress throughout the year.
Thanks,

What we are learning in Room 12...
This is the area of the weekly newsletter where parents/guardians can be informed of what is planned for our week. If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We will finish learning about fractions, including comparing fractions and creating equivalent fractions.
- Reading - We recently shipped our work to Student Treasures Publishing for our class book! Now we will complete a short unit about poetry.
- Writing/Spelling - There is a spelling test on Friday. This week's words have the suffixes "ness, less, and ful." In writing class, we are finishing our opinion writing unit.
- Science - We are finishing our unit about matter this week. There is a test on Thursday, a study guide will come home Tuesday night. After this, we will switch back to learning about social studies topics.
