Developing Growth Mindsets
Dear Parents,
Thanks you for supporting our first PTO meeting on Thursday. If you were unable to attend, the live broadcast has been archived on Symmes Elementary PTO Facebook page (https://tinyurl.com/symmeselemptofb)!
Beth Hill, our Symmes Counselor, gave a magnificent presentation about Developing Growth Mindsets in our Children. She has graciously shared her presentation slides with the PTO if you'd like to look through it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pgim7nbulndhxpa/Developing%20Mindsets%20that%20Promote%20Growth.pdf?dl=0
If you haven't had a chance to join the PTO, we are still accepting members!
Healthy Students are Better Learners
KEEPING STUDENTS HOME FROM SCHOOL DUE TO ILLNESS
It can be difficult to decide when and how long to keep an ill child home from school. The timing of the absence is often important in order to decrease the spread of disease to others and to prevent your child from acquiring any other illness while his /her resistance is lowered. Please do not send your sick child in because the have a test to take. You can work with the teacher to make it up.
If your child has a fever, is vomiting or has diarrhea they must stay home until they no longer have the symptom for 24 hours without the use of medication.
Please contact our School Nurse, Mrs. Ferron at 686-1743 if you have any questions.
Substitute Nurses Needed!
The Sycamore Community School District is currently looking for registered nurses who would like to be employed as substitute nurses. Applicants must have current nursing experience, preferably with children, special needs, diabetes and an active nursing license.
If you qualify and are interested, please call Julie Ferron, R.N. at 686-1743 or email at ferronj@sycamoreschools.org.
Get Ready for Family Math Night!!
Light refresments will be served as well as the opportunity to win one of two math games: Equate or Money Bags. A special reader will be reading two engaging books during the evening that will be raffled off.
Please watch for more information to come home through back pack mail!
If you have any questions email Mrs. Wuebbolt at wuebbolta@sycamoreschools.org
