Why an Graphic Designer?
My Childhood passion
Ever since I was little I loved how wonderful it felt to be creative. I loved taking a bunch of art supplies and making something beautiful. I even memorized the color wheel before I was ten! I am planning on being a Graphic Design major at during my years at DePaul University Chicago, and would love to experience more of the job on Genesis before truly deciding.
Goals
1. I would like to sit in on a production meeting for a certain project.
I plan on achieving this goal going to a meeting with my host, taking notes and quietly participating.
2. I would like to assist in the designing and creating of a project, determining colors, fonts, etc. and working with the different design programs.
I plan on achieving this goal by asking my host to teach me the "language of colors" and the meanings behind the color combinations. I will observe my host, and learn from how she works.
3. Throughout the week, I would like work on my own mock design, I would like to be given a "project" to put all of my new found skills to work.
I plan on achieving this goal, by asking my host to give me a fake client and let me use her resources to plan out the design myself.
