Early Morning Care
Over the past several years a staff member has provided early morning care (7:00-7:30 AM) to students of Potter Gray. This service will continue before school hours so that parents who need to be at work prior to 7:30 AM can make it on time. Early morning care will begin on Monday, August 9th. Students may be dropped off at the front entry where they will go the Cafeteria. If you are a family who needs early morning care, please click here to fill out the short application for this service.
Students are to be dropped off between 7:00-7:15 AM. If you arrive at 7:15 or later, please go to the regular car rider line in the rear of the building and wait until those doors open at 7:30 AM. We need to keep the bus loop free of cars so no one will be allowed to enter the early care doors after 7:15 AM.
Again here is the rundown for early morning care provided by Potter Gray:
Begin on Monday, August 9, 2021
Application must be filled out prior to participation.
Early morning care doors are open from 7:00-7:15 AM.
Community Education After School Child Care
We want to keep you in the loop about what we, here at Community Education, are able to do as the school year starts. Our goal was to open all of our sites, both at city and county schools, on the first day of school. However, as you may have guessed, we have been having issues with hiring enough employees to start. Due to staffing shortage, as of today, we are only able to open 5 after-school and 2 before-school programs on the first day. As we hire more employees and are able to open more programs, we will contact you with updates. Our new goal is to open all the programs by the end of August when WKU returns. Parents have been made aware of the situation.
We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause and hopefully we will back in all schools very soon.
As information from Community Ed. comes to us about after school care, we will be sure to pass it along to you ASAP.
School Hours
The instructional day begins at 8:00 A.M.
If your child arrives at school after 8:00 A.M. they will need to be brought to the front office where they will need to be signed-in by an adult and they will be considered tardy. Please make sure that all family members who will be bringing a student to school on a daily basis understands this policy.
Dismissal will begin between 2:50 and 3:00 P.M.
School Supply Lists
If you purchased school supplies online through PTO, those will be in the classrooms waiting on the students the first day of school.
Class Rosters
Kinder Camp
The Kinder Camp date is July 30th from 9:00-11:30a.m. This day is an opportunity for the new Kindergarten students and their families to come in, meet their teacher, see their classrooms and rotate through the building to meet other related arts and support teachers.
Back to School Night
We look forward to seeing everyone back with us on August 3rd!
