Student Grants

We have had an overwhelming response to the PTO Student Grant Cycle! Thank you for your assistance in providing students with this authentic learning experience. For students who elected to do a live presentation, we have created the following schedule. Please note, that the times may be different from those scheduled early on to accommodate all student groups. These presentations will take place in the conference room with members of the PTO Executive Board, Erin, and Jen. We will come get students from your classroom and bring them down to the conference room. Please note that if we are running ahead of schedule, we may come a few minutes early. If students have multimedia presentations that they will need, please add them to the Q: drive and we will make sure they are ready to go for their presentation. We hope to have decisions made and to be able to share funding decisions prior to Presidents Day Weekend.

February 9th Staff Meeting

Back by popular demand, our February 9th meeting will be a "choose your own adventure" PD experience. We will begin together in the Green lab for celebrations and to continue our discussion on student empowerment from our November meeting. We will then disperse for 20 minute sessions led by resident experts around the building. Stay tuned for an email early this week with descriptions of the sessions so that you can plan accordingly.

**This is a Tuesday, like usual. I originally had the incorrect date, a Friday. My apologizes for any confusion this might have caused!**

Expanding your professional learning network

Calkins fans and RUOS Pilot Members- If you are not already, you will want to follow @TCRWP on Twitter or The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project on Facebook. Just this weekend, Lucy posted with updates on the units based on what she has heard from teachers using them with their students. It is neat to know that she is receptive to feedback! So, as you get going using the units, know that you can reach out to connect with the people that created these materials.
