Food Drive at Buchanan Elementary
Buchanan Elementary is hosting a food drive to fill the pantry at the Branson Public Schools Social Work Office. The social work office offers emergency food supplies to any family with a Branson Schools student. This is a critical resource for our families needing food in times of crisis.
At this time, our social work office has an abundant supply of canned vegetables, but is in need of easy to prepare items to make a meal. Buchanan Elementary will be having a grade level challenge to see which class per grade level can bring the most items. The following items are requested and encouraged by grade level to help balance our pantry:
K: Boxes of Mac-N-Cheese, tuna helper or chicken helper, canned fruit
1st: Canned meat (tuna, spam, chicken, vienna sausages), canned soup, peanut butter & jelly (no glass)
2nd: Canned ravioli, SpaghettiOs, chili beans or canned chili, canned tomatoes
3rd: Bags of rice, bags of beans, packs of Ramen, oatmeal packets
Food collection will begin Wednesday, November 29th and continue through Wednesday, December 20th. Students should drop their donations in their classroom donation box.
If you are able to contribute, thank you in advance for your generosity!

Want to minimize your out of pocket costs due to damage on your child's device?
We believe providing your child with a chromebook allows for them to have an effective tool to help us prepare our learner for the future. While we don't use them all the time or may not even use them everyday, they are a vital learning tool.
Please help us teach your children how to care for their devices. We also HIGHLY ENCOURAGE parents to take out the $20 accident protection plan for their device. You can do this by completing the following online form. If you have multiple children, there is only a $40 max per family and this will save you TONS of $$ should your child damage their device. (You will need to ask your child their lunch pin to enter when signing up).
Want to give your children an edge by developing stronger readers?
Are you connected? Will you know if we called off school for inclement weather?

Education is a life-long journey and the cooperation between school and parents is vital to provide your child with a quality education. We have a wonderful school and district, and much of the reason why is...YOU, our supportive parents!
Sincerely yours in education,
