ACT & ASVAB Testing - March 14th
Guidance News
The CCP Letter of Intent to Participate is now open and active. It was posted in your student's Google classroom (i.e. Class of 2024, 2025, 2026) and should be completed by both the student and parent. There is no obligation to participate in CCP by completing the form, however, if CLHS or CLMS does not have it on file, you can be denied participation in CCP at any college/university. Forms are due by April 1st (for those not needing to take the in-school Writeplacer) and March 10th for those that need to test for acceptance in MTC's courses/programs.
The form can be completed at https://forms.gle/4AYHe7bZtrMtotM27
CCP Information Night:
If you were unable to attend the CCP Information Night presentation at CLHS, you will need to confirm that you have either attended another presentation through a different institution, or that you have watched the video of our presentation from January 25th. The rules and requirements from MTC were presented and much of the student/parent information will be communicated through MTC. CLHS helps your student with certain steps of the process, but the rest is between the student and MTC (or whichever university/college the student is taking CCP courses through). The video can be watched here https://www.facebook.com/people/Cardington-Lincoln-Local-Schools/100057584406240/
(Note: you will have to scroll down to February 8th for the post)
If you have any questions specific to MTC, please reach out to Ellie Hess at hesse@mtc.edu
Sign-ups for Writeplacer Exam:
Students needing to test into MTC's courses or programs can take their newest test, the Writeplacer, at CLHS on March 24th. Students will learn of their scores shortly after the test is completed and this is one of the requirements necessary to take MTC courses either at CLHS, online, or on their campus. Some courses will require different tests and scores (i.e. English Composition needs this test) in order to enroll in them. Students will also need to apply to MTC before March 10th in order to be eligible for this opportunity. Apply through MTC's site at: https://www.mtc.edu/apply/
Should you miss this deadline, you can still apply and then you would have to take the Writeplace or Accuplacer through MTC's testing center.
ACT & ASVAB:
11th graders will be taking the ACT and 10th graders will be taking the ASVAB on Tuesday, March 14th (weather permitting). Students wanting to be dismissed after the completion of the exams will need to have a signed parent permission slip turned in before being excused. The deadline and form will be coming soon! Students wishing to stay for the entire day to have lunch, meet with teachers, or use the time to get ahead or catch up on their work can do so. 11th-grade students created a MyACT account during their CCR classes. If they were absent, guidance will be going back to the CCR classrooms to complete the pre-administration portion of the exam, which includes an opportunity to select up to 4 colleges/institutions to send your official ACT score for free. Students needing to send scores at a later date will be required to pay $16 per score report to ACT directly.
10th-grade students will have their ASVAB scores interpreted the week before spring break. These scores will help students identify strengths in areas that may not represented in core academic or even elective courses.
