Taking an AP Course?

Dear Families of Students in AP Courses,

This is a reminder that the deadline for registering for an AP exam is November 4, 2022 at 5:00PM. Your student should have enrolled in their AP Course and indicated their exam decision via the College Board website (MyAP) during class time. Please confirm with your student that they have enrolled in their AP course and indicated their exam decision by asking them to log into their College Board account at https://apstudents.collegeboard.org. Any exams that are registered for after November 4, 2022 at 5:00PM may be subject to a $40 late fee.

Beginning with the school year 2021-2022, LCPS will cover the cost of the first 4 AP exams taken during a student’s high school tenure. Depending on the number of AP exams your student took last year, the number of AP exams they register for this year, and/or the number of unpaid AP exam fees they incurred last year, payment may be required to order the exam(s).

AP exams cost $88 each, with AP Research/Seminar exams costing $136 each. Payments can be made through the SchoolCash online system available on each school’s web page or in person at the school. Please reach out to your student’s School Testing Coordinator if you have questions about the amount due.

Your student must register for their desired AP exams by November 4, 2022 at 5:00PM. You will be contacted via an email from School Cash Online if you need to pay for an exam and/or any applicable fees. Payments can be made throughout the school year, with a final deadline of March 31, 2023.

If your student attends The Academies of Loudoun, please read this before registering for AP exams. Exam payments should be made to the school locations in which your student is scheduled to take the exams.

We recognize the importance of college admissions testing and encourage you to contact your student’s School Testing Coordinator, Michi Bryant at michi.bryant@lcps.org with questions or concerns. Additionally, you may contact the Office of Assessment Services with general process questions.
