Hello Scappoose Community,


Welcome to the New Year! I hope everyone had a stellar holiday break and well-deserved rest! We are days away from starting J-Term! Schedules will come out on Studentvue on January 4th, 2023. There will be no schedule change requests for J-Term classes. The schedule for our days is posted below. We start back from break with an Early Release Wednesday. Buses run at standard times in the morning, and doors open for bus riders at 8:00 AM. Please see below for important schedule announcements, leadership activities, and athletics.

Jan. 27th | No classes, teacher grading day


Freshmen/Class of 2026:

Freshmen election packets are available in D3. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Mrs. Hagen. Applications are due back at noon Friday 1/6/23.

Athletics

Our Winter Season has quickly moved into high gear with all of our current teams kick-starting their pursuits to reach their potentials. We are looking forward to all the upcoming tournaments, meets, matches, and performances to end 2022.


Scappoose Booster Club:

  • We are looking for people to help get involved in impacting our Scappoose Community.

  • After a few years off due to the pandemic, the following events have been scheduled:

    • Hall of Fame Class of 2022 - Friday & Saturday, September 22 & 23

    • 20th Salmon Derby - Saturday, April 15 at Columbia County Fairgrounds

    • Ryan Moore Golf Tournament - TBD

  • The next meeting will be January 6 @ 6:00 p.m. in the HS library.

  • Please let me know if you are interested in helping out in any way.


Upcoming Contests:


Girls Basketball:

  • Boys and Girls head to Stayton tonight after a break in their schedule.

  • Monday and Tuesday they head to Gladstone for their Holiday Tournament

Boys Basketball:

  • Captured a road win at Clatskanie last Friday 58-37.

  • Boys and Girls head to Stayton tonight after a break in their schedule.

Dance:

  • After a fantastic start, Vision will compete on Saturday, January 14 at Clackamas HS


Wrestling:

  • Continue to have some fantastic performances in the early duals and invitationals

  • HS Wrestling Update - December 12

  • Hosted novice wrestling Wednesday night in front of a full house and five schools.

  • Girls wrestling heads to Liberty High School on Saturday morning.

  • Novice wrestlers head to Westview on Monday.

  • Boys and Girls host Molalla and Estacada on Wednesday, December 21 at 5pm.


Swimming:

  • Hosted the River City Invitational last Friday at the Eisenschmidt Pool in St Helens.

  • Swam exceptionally well against St. Helens on Wednesday

    • St Helens - Scappoose Swim Results - have not been posted at this time

  • Next Competition takes place in St. Helens with us hosting Tillamook and Rainier on Tuesday, January 3 at 4pm.

Safe and Sober Update

SHS Safe and Sober Grad Party Updates:


New Updates:

Save those cans and bottles to donate to the Safe and Sober can/bottle drive on January 7th! We have blue bags available for anyone that would like to turn in bottles and cans to Fred Meyers before January 7th. They can be returned just like the green bags. Contact us at shssafeandsober@gmail.com to have a bag delivered.
