Reminders & News
- Make sure to read The Exchange for district news and information
- Blackshear Dashboard
- Here is the link for the morning announcements, which begin daily at 8:00 a.m.
- Make sure to nominate kids for the P2P Learner Award (2 per teacher per 9 week period).
- Morning Announcements Guest Stars - check here for your schedule and/or to sign up!
- Please remember the March 8 deadline for Evidence of Reading Difficulty to be proven and paperwork turned in to Ashley for all STAAR tests, even May administrations. If you need assistance with this, see an administrator or specialist.
- The next Holdsworth assessment survey window is coming soon! The survey will be administered March 18th – 22nd. Please watch for an email from the district and take time to speak up!
- Changing MAP Scores - Campuses no longer have the ability to update test events in MAP. This means that it is even more important for students to do their best on the first try, as any requests for updates must now be sent to the district and are generally frowned upon. If an update is absolutely necessary, an administrator will be able to submit the request.
Visible Learning Update
- Learning Intentions/Success Criteria
- Learner Dispositions
We took time to read through all of the work each group did on Monday and picked the strongest word from each strand of our Profile of a Learner in order to select Blackshear Learner Dispositions which are closely aligned with our district vision and guiding documents. Here is what we came up with:
Learner Dispositions
We are Pathway Explorers because we are goal-oriented.
We are Equipped Scholars because we are adaptable.
We are Values-Driven Leaders because we are collaborative.
- We are Forever Learners because we are perseverant.
Over the coming months, we will begin the work of getting our students to know and own these dispositions.
Learning Intentions/Success Criteria
We want to start this work by gathering pictures and examples to work from, and then take it slow with each teacher committing to try it out in one subject area for the rest of this year. Our team will give feedback so that we can all refine our practice. These learning intentions and success criteria will replace the traditional "I can"/TEKS posted in classrooms.
I have created a Visible Learning folder in our Staff Google Folder, and a subfolder within for pictures. I have placed some pictures from other campuses I have visited and I want us all to contribute to the pictures during our visits to Lemm next week. Please refer to THIS DOCUMENT for the Lemm challenge and for direct links to the folders with pictures (It will require you to make your own copy).
