Hello Lakeside Families! I hope all of you have been enjoying your summer! As we approach the start of the 2020-2021 school year, I want to provide you with some important information.
MSD Warren Township will be starting on our scheduled date of July 29 and will offer instructional options in either the physical school setting or online for students who are not able or are uncomfortable returning to school on the scheduled start date. I know many families are interested in the school supply list for our upcoming school year. A common supply list for all students in grades K-4 has been developed. The supply list for K-4 students for the 2020-2021 school year can be found later in this newsletter.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at 317-532-2853 or at jsmith6@warren.k12.in.us if you have any questions about our upcoming school year. Know that we are diligently working to ensure a safe school environment for our students and staff. I would like to share some additional reminders for the upcoming school year:
Warren is excited to announce that we have upgraded to a new student information system called Synergy. This means that our old parent portal, Tyler, will be going away. Instead, the parent portal will be upgraded to Synergy’s ParentVUE. ParentVUE is an online tool to help you monitor your student’s education. It allows you to update contact information and provides you with access to the latest information about your child’s attendance and scheduling. Our middle and high school families can view class assignments, report card grades, and course history with ParentVUE.
Once ParentVUE is available, parents who have a previous Tyler account will receive an email with instructions about setting up your new username and password. If you do not have a Tyler SIS account, please complete a registration form located on our parent portal webpage and return it to your school to begin the process of activating your account. ParentVUE is a great way to stay connected with your student's school and track their academic progress. It also helps us stay in contact with you!
Supply lists for the 20-21 school year will be posted and shared on or before July 15th. Families can expect the supply lists to be similar as they have been in previous years.
There have been no changes for immunizations for K-12 students. K-12 Immunization information can be found on our website under the 20-21 Enrollment Tab.
Thank you for your ongoing investment in Warren students and schools and I look forward to seeing you in three weeks.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
