School Counselors: Building Magical Futures
When I Grow Up....
College/Career Fair February 11, 2014
Even if you haven't given too much thought to careers, you've probably been asked what you want to be when you grow up. You might have even been asked this question many times. Your answer might have been the same or changed each time you were asked! This month our students will create College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) accounts to help discover their college and career areas of interest. Have your student give you a tour of the site and learn about all the great resources available to help them reach their maximum potential.
Random Acts of Kindness Week
February 14-20, 2014
When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace. The 14th Dalai Lama (1935)
A random act of kindness is a selfless act performed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual person or people. During this week we want to encourage Shughart students to go above and beyond the norm to show kindness.
