Practicing the Pedagogy

Grant Wood AEA is pleased to announce a course supporting educators currently using Actively Learn in their classrooms.

Participants will identify barriers to reading deeply and practice strategies to minimize those barriers. They will also analyze and evaluate how Actively Learn can improve current teaching practices and will implement reading strategies to support deep reading and amplify the impact of using Actively Learn in the classroom.

This will be a hybrid course with an initial face-to-face meeting, followed by self-paced online coursework and periodic synchronous meetings via Zoom.


Initial face-to-face meeting: Wednesday, January 10 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Lynn Kleinmeyer

Lynn Kleinmeyer is a Grant Wood AEA Digital Learning consultant. Lynn has a strong background in literacy. Prior to joining the Digital Learning Team, Lynn worked for 3 years as a Teacher Librarian for 2nd-5th graders and prior to that taught 7th grade Reading for 13 years. Lynn is dedicated to supporting the integration of technology and information literacy skills in every classroom.

Gina Rogers

Gina Rogers is a Digital Learning consultant. Before accepting her position at Grant Wood AEA, Gina was a high school English and Language Arts teacher in two 1:1 districts in eastern Iowa. Gina is passionate about finding ways to integrate technology to help learners meet curricular goals.
