Spirit Week/ Red Ribbon Week and Jagfest

Spirit / Red Ribbon Week

September 28 through October 2, Jasper will be celebrating spirit and red ribbon week. There will be a wide variety of fun activities for everyone to participate in.

PALS will keep the week going with theme days throughout the week and students are encourage to dress for the day (dress code still applies)


Monday- American Monday

Tuesday- Tacky Tourist/ Island Living

Wednesday- Character Day

Thursday- Green out!

Friday- Flashback Friday


Some of our student clubs will remind the school of the next day theme with a short commercial. Look for our Jaguar mascot dressed up during lunches sporting the next day theme. Tune into lunch and passing periods as themed music will fill the halls.

Monday, September 28, many of the halls will be decorated in a theme of drug free and Jasper spirit.

Daily announcements will have facts about drugs and prevention. Another way Jasper is promoting Red Ribbon week is by having video's and discussions in Study hall about the dangers and consequences of drug use.

PARADE:

Jasper will have an indoor school parade on October 1. The parade will include many teacher and student floats celebrating Jasper spirit and drug free living. The parade will be in our main halls and foyer at the end of the day.

PEP Rally:

We will also have a pep rally to get everyone excited and ready to cheer Jasper on to victory against Shepton. The pep rally will be Thursday, October 1 towards the end of the day.

We will have several food vendors and fans providing food for our students this day.

This year we are not going to be accept cash at the tables the food is located. Students will need to purchase coupons to exchange for the food items they choose. Each student coupon is worth $1. Coupons can be purchased during block lunch on Wednesday or Thursday and before school on Thursday or Friday. You can also purchase coupons at Jagfest but it is strongly encouraged to get your coupon early and not stand in two lines. Any coupons that are not used can be returned for cash from the PTSA. Please know, coupons are just like money and will not be replaced if they are lost. Students are not required to purchase or go to Jagfest.


We hope this will be an exciting week to promote drug free living and also give the Jasper Student body another reason to be proud to be a Jaguar!!


Westside Showdown Tailgate:

There will be a pre-game tailgate party with both Jasper and Shepton students before the 10th grade Jasper vs Shepton football game on October 1. The event starts at 6:00 in west side parking lot of Clark Stadium. It is free to any student wearing Jasper spirit gear. Students that attend will get a hotdog, chips, and water. Come and support the Jaguars at this fun event!

PTSA Meeting and Program about Social Media Awareness

Join us for a presentation on Social Media to learn how to protect your child from dangers of social media. All students at Jasper will see this presentation. Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30pm, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County will join us at our General PTSA meeting to review this presentation and give you the tools to help protect your student.

Spirit Sales

Jasper High School will have spirit sales on September 30th during lunches. Students please remember to bring your money to get your Jasper and West Spirit wear!


Make up picture day October 9th

Students will have the opportunity to have their picture taken October 9th if they were absent or did not like their picture. Students should go before, during English or during lunch to room 1130.


Yearbook

Yearbooks are available to be purchased online beginning August 1. These may be purchased with a credit card at www.jostensyearbooks.com .


House District Student Leadership Advisory Council

Let Your Imagination Fly

National PTA Reflections welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Let Your Imagination Fly and unleash your inner artist! Choreograph a dance, produce a film, write a poem or story, compose a song, take a picture or create a piece of visual art and tell us what the theme: "Let Your Imagination Fly" means to you.

All participants will receive a participation certificate. You may drop off your work at front office between Oct. 19--30th.

Cheerleader Sales

The Jasper Spirit Boosters are selling Jasper Spirit shirts, for only $8.00 apiece! We want to see those stands covered in green, as the Jasper Jags stomp the Stallions! These shirts will be available for purchase on Thursday, 10/1, during lunch and at the football games! One this day, we are also selling spirit ribbons! Wear at the games and during school! These ribbons are only .50...and with each ribbon, you get entered into a raffle for a free shirt! The winner will be announced at the pep rally. Buy 2 ribbons, you get 2 entries! Support your Jasper Cheerleaders and wear your Mean Green, as we all come together to cheer our Jags into the endzone!! Make checks payable to "Jasper Spirit Boosters". Guess what time it is,...it is time to buy those Jasper Sports Programs, again! The Jasper Jazz Booster Club invites the community to a garage sale from 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Jasper High School, 6800 Archgate Dr. in Plano. Money raised will support the award-winning Jasper High School drill team. Sponsored by the Jasper Jazz Booster Club.


High Kicks and Herkies Drill/Cheer Clinic

Does your kid like to dance or cheer? Don’t miss “High Kicks and Herkies,” a dance and cheer clinic for students in kindergarten through fifth grades. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Jasper High School (JHS) gym, 6800 Archgate Dr. in Plano. Cost is $40 and includes a t-shirt, snacks, photo opportunities with the JHS drill team and cheerleaders and a performance “show off.” Space is limited, and pre-registration is recommended. To pre-register, drop off registration and payment (payable to Jasper Jazz Booster Club) at the elementary front office, JHS front office, or mail registration and payment to: Jasper High School, 6800 Archgate Dr., Plano ,TX 75024, Attn: Jasper Jazz/April Lutts.
