Principal's Message
Hello Ride Families,
Congratulations! We have just completed an incredible week of "full school," in person for all our grades (PK - 4th). It was great to see the classrooms with children learning! It makes our hearts warm when we start seeing our challengers work hanging in the hallways and on bulletin boards.
I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work that our teachers have done for the reopening of Ride for in person instruction (roughly two thirds) and remote instruction (one third). I appreciate working with each one of them and for their long tireless hours spent bringing school back! They are positive, flexible, and patient; with that said, I realize we still have a long way to go, but with each week comes small wins, successes and accomplishments.
We tried a couple different dismissal approaches and even with the internet down today, the teachers did an amazing job!
Attendance: We all have a great opportunity in the current model to increase our students' attendance rates for both in person and remote students! If your child is absent for any reason, they may do any one of the following to be counted present that day.
1. Student shows as active for the day in Canvas or SeeSaw report.
2. Student attends a live video conference in a platform such as Zoom or Canvas.
3. Student starts, completes or turns in an assignment from canvas, Seesaw, email, phone/video call, paper assignment.
Students have until 11:59PM on that specific day to participate.
It is very important to make every attempt at one of the three options.
I hope this helps explain the process for attendance.
School hours are 8:00 - 3:10. Doors open at 7:30am
PTO-- Please take a moment to join PTO and purchase school shirts and spirit items. This will be our only format for fundraising this Fall. We really appreciate your support. See below.

Don't forget Saturday, Sept. 12th is the last day to order school shirts!
Enjoy your weekend,
Megan Burnham, Principal
Screen your child prior to coming to School
Our parents are valued partners in our Roadmap to Reopening Plan. In addition to wearing cloth face coverings, social distancing, washing hands, and regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces, an essential element in helping slow the spread of COVID-19 at school is each parent’s commitment to screening their child daily for symptoms. Parents are also asked to keep any student exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 at home and to notify the campus. Attached is a copy of the current screening process which outlines the symptoms. Please review the information and be sure to keep your child at home if he/she is exhibiting any of the symptoms described.
Please note that all campuses are closed to visitors at this time to help stop the spread of COVID-19. If you must visit a campus, we ask that you screen yourself prior to leaving your home. All visitors that come on a campus/facility will be required to use the Access Intercom system or call the front office from their vehicle. Once the reception area identifies the person and their need to be on campus, they will be allowed in the building. All visitors will be required to sign in using the visitor program. Each visitor will be asked the screening questions. If a “yes” response is given to one of the questions, the visitor will be asked to leave the campus immediately.
Parent/teacher conferences, ARDS, 504 meetings etc. will be held virtually or by telephone when possible.
Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe.
Sincerely,
Megan Burnham
Principal
