What to Expect in Remote Learning

Dear Parents,

This week you had the opportunity to hear more about what your child is working on and what to expect this year. Thank you for your partnership and support with your child in remote learning. We know this can't be done without your support at home. We continue to get some questions about what to expect, so included below are the expectations the district has communicated about what remote learning will look like on M-Th and then on Friday's. Our teachers will make adjustments to developmental age and needs of the class. While we know Friday's look different, there is the expectation that students will work on independent work or asynchronous lessons. If you have questions, please contact your teacher. Thanks for your support and making school a priority for your family.

Best,

Mr. Camp

Friday's

  • Morning Check-In/Class Meeting: 15 minutes live.
  • The rest of Friday, students complete independent and asynchronous work.
  • Teachers will have office hours. Parents can arrange for additional meetings for their student.
  • Outside of office hours, teachers collaboratively plan and prepare for the next week.

Back-to-School Nights

Thanks for your participation in these important meetings. These are important times to connect with your child's teacher and to learn more about what to expect and how you can support. If you missed, please check with your child's teacher.

Ongoing Materials Distribution and Library Checkout

Today is the first day for this and only K-2 teachers plan to have things. Your child's teacher will communicate with you moving forward about what to expect. Beginning Sept. 18, students will be able to checkout books from the library by reserving online. Mrs. Powers, our Media Specialist, will be working with students about how to do this. Library books will be available for pickup on Friday's with materials distribution.

Please work with your child's teacher if you are unable to pickup materials at this scheduled time.

Meals During Remote Learning

Ensuring kids have access to nutritious meals during the 2020-21 school year is a top priority. PSD Child Nutrition and the Transportation Departments have teamed up to make sure meals are available to students at several locations across the district. For more information, go to:

Attendance Updates

This is a friendly reminder to call our attendance line at 970-488-5551 or use ParentVue to report any absences of your child. We want to remind you that we need to take attendance each day (M-F). Teachers will take attendance during morning meeting time and submit that to the office. We know that there will be times when students are not able to access online at the time of morning meetings, so please work with your teacher to let them know you were able to access online activities at some point during the day.

A/B Hybrid Day Requests-Update

We apologize for the delay for those requesting changes to A/B days. Communication will go out by the end of next week regarding your request. Thanks for your patience.
