Weekly Update
March 4-8
Technology
*Any usage of technology must be monitored by adults at all times. If students are using their own personal devices during approved times, teachers must be aware of what is being done on the devices. Students should not be allowed to view or touch devices that do not belong to them. There should never be You Tube, You Tube Kids, or social media used on devices at any time.
*Anything viewed in the classroom should be projected from your iPad and should have been previewed by you.
*Students using school iPads for instruction should either be set to guided access or displayed on Apple Classroom.
*Student should never be using adult iPads for any reason. This includes the Tadpoles classroom iPads, laptops, teacher assigned iPads, or any other classroom devices. Students should not be checking themselves in or other students in on the Tadpoles app.
While technology is a wonderful tool, it must be used properly. There is also a plethora of dangerous things lurking for children if we are not careful.
Elementary Notifications and Upcoming Events
*We have decided to launch reading month on Monday, March 18 (after spring break). We will discuss the plans during our faculty meeting on Wednesday, March 6.
*Our next faculty meeting is Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 am. We will be providing breakfast for those of you who are interested. I know some of you mentioned bringing your own and I promise my feelings will not be hurt if you bring your own. However, you are welcome to eat what is brought.
*Please be patient when turning in lamination to be done. It generally takes 3-5 days after it is submitted to be completed.
*Please hold forms and things to come to the office until your conference time and bring everything up at once.
*Please understand that thermostats are set for the ideal temperature for the full day. It may be cooler or warmer in the morning, but this is to keep the temperature in the classroom from getting too hot or cold in the afternoon. Obviously, this time of year the weather does fluctuate frequently, so we will monitor and move systems from heat and air as necessary.
*Thank you for the great door decorations! Please take them down now.
*Chuck-E-Cheese night is Thursday, March 7 from 3:00-9:00 pm.
*We will introduce our next character trait of respect on Friday, March 8. Please wear yellow to help introduce it; jeans may be worn with yellow.
*We will not be sending yellow folders home on Friday, March 8. Please let parents know that folders will go home the Monday after spring break (March 18).
