Monday 8/17 - Laulima Challenge
You can use Laulima, University of Hawaiʻi's online collaborative learning environment, to organize class materials, streamline communication with your students, reduce paper use, and increase student engagement for your online and face-to-face classes. In this interactive challenge, you will learn how to use Laulima’s basic tools and set up your courses for the upcoming semester.

Tuesday 8/18 - Preparing for Hybrid Modality
Teaching hybrid this semester? Have you considered the format for your hybrid modality, supporting active learning, and how you will meet the Leeward Baseline Recommended Actions (http://go.hawaii.edu/Aqy)? This workshop is intended to provide you with guidance as you plan for a hybrid modality.

Tuesday 8/18 and Thursday 8/20 - Self-Introduction Videos and Professional Self-Portraits
Self-introduction videos can be used to attract students to take your course, establish social presence, and build community in your course. Make an appointment to shoot a 2-3 minute self-introduction video and/or take a professional headshot photo.

Thursday 8/20 - Syllabus Makeover Challenge - Part 1 (Standard)
Creating a course syllabus and making it available to students is an essential responsibility as an instructor. Often the syllabus gives students a first impression about what to expect from the course. In this workshop, you will create a standard (accessible) syllabus or update your current syllabus into one that incorporates UDL principles. A template is provided for a quick-start.

Thursday 8/20 - Syllabus Makeover Challenge - Part 2 (Visual)
Creating an interactive syllabus activity paired with a visual syllabus can help your students learn about the course requirements and get them excited about what they will learn. In this workshop, you will create a syllabus activity and give your syllabus a “makeover” into a visual syllabus. A template is provided for a quick-start.
