The Third Amendment
Lydia A.
What is the Bill of Rights?
No solider shall, in the time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
Court Case
A homeowner in Henderson,Nevada filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that police had violated his 3 Amendment rights by forcibly entering his home to gain a "tactical advantage" in resolving a domestic violence incident next door. Its not clear that police officers could pose as soldiers under the Third Amendment nor is it clear whether the 3 Amendment applies to the all the states at all.
Scenario
It was a sunny day in Mansfield,Texas. We were all playing outside, when all of a sudden we saw a group of soldiers approaching our houses. We asked them what they were doing and one of the soldiers said "We need homes to stay in so have to live in these houses here. "But that's against the rules" I said . "Says who?" the man said". Says the law" I argued. "The third amendment states that no solider in the time of peace shall be quarted in any house without the owners consent"."And we are in peace right now"I said. The soldiers all walked away slowly and we continued with our day.
