Staff Appreciation Week
I would like to start this newsletter by thanking you for Staff Appreciation Week! Your kindness was overwhelming. The hands that your children decorated were so joyful and touching. We thoroughly enjoyed reading the messages written on each one. We also appreciated having a delicious breakfast and lunch at school. The geranium was a generous gift as well. We can't thank you enough for making each and every staff member feel special and appreciated!
Science in the Classroom
In the classroom, we have also been focusing on planting. Miss Bridget generously donated an earth box, soil and seeds to the classroom and helped get this unit started. The children planted sugar snap peas, nasturtiums and strawberries. In less than a week, the children observed seedlings. Within two weeks, the sugar snap peas were about 12 inches tall! The children have been very curious and careful observers while our plants grow. It was also a great opportunity for children to learn some new vocabulary about gardening.

Baking for the Art Show
Although, the muffins were for the Bake Sale, we did savor a muffin or two! At the same time, the children worked on a Grace and Curtesy Exercise. It was obvious that this was not their first Grace and Curtesy Exercise! One child offered a piece of muffin to every child (18) and adult in the classroom. Each time, he used the same language that we had practiced beforehand. The children receiving the muffin responded very politely. When everyone was served, the children ate at the same time, saying. Bon appétit!
