Junie B. Jones

As some of you may have heard we have been reading Junie B. Jones in our class after lunch. Some of your children may be requesting to read this series at home as well. Junie B. is a sassy little girl so just a word of warning as you may prepare to read... I do some of my own editing as I read. For instance, the first book of the series is titled The Stupid Smelly Bus. Our version was the dumb smelly bus. In the most recent story we are reading one child discusses that Mickey and Minnie Mouse are costumes, and I made sure those comments were left out of our reading.

I love this series because Junie B is a kindergartener and the stories are related to experiences the kids are having. The kids love how funny she is and some of her endeavors provide great talking points for us to discuss right and wrong choices. Just be ready to do some creative rewrites if you add this to your home library.
