The Riverwood Review
19th Edition
May 11, 2023
A Message From Principal Smith
Dear Riverwood Families,
This is the last official edition of the Riverwood Review for this school year. As a parent and as a principal, this time of year is always bittersweet for me. It will be hard for me to say goodbye to the Class of 2023 and to their parents who will no longer have children at Riverwood.
Graduation season is rich with traditions, including our annual ‘Walk the Halls’ at our feeder schools. On Monday, May 22, our seniors will visit High Point, Lake Forrest and Heards Ferry at 1:00pm, followed by Ridgeview at 2:30pm. All of our senior activities are included here.
The purpose of the Riverwood Review is to deliver important information every other week to parents and more recently to our students, as well. We hope that you have found it to be a helpful resource.
As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, we will add text messaging to communicate grade-specific or schoolwide notifications with parents and students. You and your students will soon have the opportunity to update your contact information to ensure that you receive these messages.
Collecting this information is part of a larger goal for Riverwood. Our School Governance Council (SGC) will soon introduce you to our ‘Riverwood United’ initiative. One key objective of ‘Riverwood United’ is to help our school community stay more engaged and connected by providing access to key information to every Riverwood student and parent.
I’d like to thank Riverwood’s extraordinary staff for their continued relentless dedication to our students. Please take a few minutes before school ends to personally thank those who have made a difference in your world.
Regards,
Kindra Smith
