It's Almost Spring!

Mrs. Graham's Third Grade Class

Field Trips

We will be going on a field trip to the Carolina Aviation Museum on Friday, March 17th at 9:45 AM. If you would like to chaperone, please let Mrs. Graham know ASAP. We will also go on a field trip in April to the movies to see Born in China. The time and date TBA.

Interactive Black History Wax Museum

We have worked very hard this past month on our projects! They are now up and running. You may come by to view them at anytime. All projects are located on B hall. If you need help, a student volunteer can help you navigate the museum.

Raz Kids @ Home

Your child can use Raz Kids at home! Just use the link below. The teacher's name is:

Homework Changes

The EOG's are coming up soon! In order to focus more on reading longer passages, your child will have a reading passage (or 2) for homework every week. This will help them build endurance while reading. The passages are very similar to the way the EOG will be organized. Because of this, I have decided to eliminate Word Work (which we will do in class) from homework.

  • Math
  • Reading Log (reading for 20 minutes)
  • Reading Passage (due by Friday)
  • Reading Response (Response to a book of your choice)
  • Science/Social Short response question written in your child's HAB (This is occasional)

Behavior Plan Change

Because my students are doing so well, I have decided to change our behavior plan. Instead of the stick, we will use a classroom economy. Students will have the opportunity to earn "money" for doing well in class. They can also lose money as well. Every two weeks, they will have a chance to shop for small items in our classroom store. If you would like to donate anything, please let me know. Here are some things that would be beneficial for our store:

coloring books

small candy

small toys

As always, you can find this stuff at THE DOLLAR TREE, even the books!

Multiplication Incentive

I have made a deal with my students. If they are able to complete their multiplication tables, I will make them a FREE cup! So keep practicing!

Behavior Plan

For behavior management, we will be using the color system. Based on their behavior, students will move their clip up or down the stick ( a picture of it is below).

Red= Superb day! (Students will get to choose something from the treasure box)

Orange= Excellent

Green= Ready to Learn

Purple= Teachers' Choice (timeout, brief office visit)

Pink= Parent contact & Office

Everyday, each student starts on green.
