Research is Coming to Town...

Students will be delving into research after the holiday break. Each grade level will be using the components of Depth and Complexity to dig deep. You can visit http://www.byrdseed.com/introducing-depth-and-complexity/ if you would like to learn more about these 11 components and incorporate them at home as well. :)

1st: Relationships via Family/Traditions

2nd: Systems via A Study of Water

3rd: Patterns via Math in Nature

4th: Mysteries via Enigmas

5th: Culture via Collectibles: Fad or Fortune?

Let it Change, Let it Change, Let it Change...

The EXPO Schedule will be changing after the Winter Break, since I wanted to be able to pull students during RtI time for enrichment and be sure students aren't missing an entire block of content time in the general classroom. I am at Adkins on Tues., Thurs., and Fri. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesdays and Thursdays

1st Grade: 1:05-1:50

2nd Grade: 2:00-2:45

3rd Grade: 10:40-11:20 and 12:15-12:50

4th Grade: 8:20-8:55 and 9:45-10:25

5th Grade: 8:55-9:25 and 11:30-12:15

1st and 2nd Grade: 8:00-9:00

O' Creativity Creativity...Brightly Shine Your Ideas!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Google...

Please remember to have your child check his/her Google Classroom for assignments and projects. I plan on using it more frequently after the break, especially for collaborating on research projects. We won't need flash drives this year due to every student having access to Google Drive. Students can access the drive via the Google Classroom, which will make completing projects and presenting so much easier. :)
