PK3.3 News
18th - 22nd January 2016
This week in PK3 we continued focusing on our class rules and routines. We talked about our circle time and how we "catch a bubble" , how we can raise our hand when we have something to say and how sitting"criss cross apple sauce" stops our knees from hurting and keeps our legs to ourselves.
Welcome to Noora Alnuaimi!
In morning circle time we have been;
- guessing what the missing picture is.
- learning a new morning song about morning routines when we wake up.
- creating a sequencing game where one child will clap a pattern and another will then change the pattern for everyone to copy. This has been a huge hit and I encourage you to try it with your own child. It is a great way to build concentration, hand eye coordination and imagination.
Making a friendship quilt.
Today I feel silly.......

ISP is going green!
We are making this year a GREEN year at ISP. Our goal is to educate our students, one step at a time, about the importance of caring for their school, home, country, & planet.
In PK3 this week we created and designed our own classroom recycling box! Students are learning what materials we can recycle and are showing lots of responsibility putting their used papers in the box! Way to go PK3.
What have we been reading this week?
A great way to talk about feelings is using rhymes and stories. This week we focused on Little Miss Muffet - by Mother Goose. As a group we talked about things that make us scared and what we can do to feel better.
Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her,
And frightened Miss Muffet away.
Wemberly Worried - by Kevin Henkes
Another favorite story was Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes.
Wemberly worries morning, noon, and night. "Worry, worry, worry," her family say. "Too much worry." Her biggest worry is her first day of school. But then she meets a fellow worrywart in her class, and realizes that school is too much fun to waste time worrying!
I have attached a video read-aloud you can share together with your child.
Next week: Buildings
Important reminders
SNACKS: We follow a healthy eating policy here at ISP and therefore ask that you send your children with healthy snacks for break time (small pieces of fruit, yoghurt, small sandwiches, cheese, etc), along with a water bottle/juice/milk. Sodas, candy, chocolate, should not be sent for snack. These items will be returned home. Thank you for your support.
