What's Happening?

Congratulations to John for doing an excellent job at the Benefit Concert. Money raised will go to Cradle of Hope.

Also, congratulations to Eliana for winning the class Poetry Contest. She will move on to the finals at the MUST Auditorium on May 14. Good luck, Eliana!

Mark your calendar for these important upcoming events. May 14 is the Poetry Contest finals at the MUST Auditorium at 6:00. May 18 will be Arts Day. Each student will have a piece of art displayed. There will also be art classes that you can sign up for that day. See flyer attached. Also, on May 23 parents are invited to our Inuit Day celebration. There will be games, activities, crafts and food. The time will be from 10:05 to 11:25. Watch for your invitations that will be coming home next week.

Language - we will be learning how to write a Haiku poem, reading more of Polar Bear Past Bedtime, and learning how to write a friendly letter. Students should be at 70% of their Accelerated Reader goal next week. So far, all students are on track. Congratulations to Annie, Monte, Tariq and Eliana for meeting their goal already!

Math - we will finish up 2D and 3D shapes. There will be a test next week on this unit.

Social - We will be finishing up learning about Iqaluit and starting to put together our centers for Inuit Day.

Have a great week!
