Yellow Jackets Varsity Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Richmond Hill

Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over Richmond Hill on Thursday. The game was tied at six with Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run for Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets Varsity.

Delanie Thames collected four hits in five bats to help lead SEB to victory. Thames homered in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled in the seventh.

SEB got on the board in the first inning. Thames hit a solo homer.

Richmond Hill evened things up at six in the bottom of the fourth inning. Richmond Hill scored one run when A Laidler singled.

Richmond Hill scored three runs in the fourth inning. Richmond Hill big bats were led by Maddie Stevens, L Tuttle and Laidler, who all dove in runs.

Marissa Waters was on the rubber for SEB. The pitcher went three and a third innings, striking out one. B Milledge threw three and a third innings in relief.

SEB collected 11 hits on the day. Thames, Paige Nelson, and Olivia Horton each racked up multiple hits for SEB. Thames led Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets Varsity with four hits in five at bats.

The SEB Volleyball team defeated Vidalia on Thursday 3-0.
