Ms. Martha Lamb drove bus 167 until Ms. Thomas took over about a month ago; now Ms. Lamb is a substitute bus driver.
This week we had ”Muffin to do but appreciate our drivers” on Monday and provided muffins to our drivers. On Tuesday, we thank the drivers for "keeping us Rolling" with tootsie rolls. We "Wheelie" Appreciated them on Wednesday with "tires" and "fuel" better known as Sunny D and Chocolate covered doughnuts. Thursday we shared that we are "Thrilled to Pieces that they are our bus drivers" and provided a sweet treat of Reese's pieces. To wrap the week up we are providing a nacho bar lunch to the drivers because they are "Nacho" average bus drivers!
One more big THANKS to our drivers for braving the roads and getting our students to and from school safely!
Student Centered- Planning Begins and Ends With The Leaner
Achieve 3000 is not your ordinary independent reading program. On February 11, 2015, teachers at East Lee Middle School participated in a 3 hour Achieve 3000 training. The program stressed the importance of shifting the teachers mind frame from Achieve 3000 being an independent reading program to explicit instruction in their classrooms.
Explicit Instruction: Teachers should use this model when teaching a skill or task related to text that the students must use.
We Do- teacher involves the whole class in modeling the skill or task
Y'all Do- students practice the skill or task with other students (in groups or partners)
You Do- students complete the skill or task independently.
