Bearcat Brief

April 13, 2018

Notes from Niki

Happy Friday the 13th! There are only 5 more Bearcat Briefs to come this year and we are down to 5 Mondays left. There, of course, is a lot to be done in that time. I am hoping to get the master schedule as wrapped up as it can be and having PBIS Bootcamp Plans to you for our next faculty meeting. If you haven't looked at minutes from the Board Meeting, you will be pleased to know that we will be keeping a position at HMS that we thought would be lost. Paige Brown will move from being a 5th-grade classroom teacher to doing some specials and 6th grade. We will also be adding a section of PE. Josh Vinyard will teach a 7th-hour Wellness class next year. On a bittersweet note, the BOE, with regrets, accepted the resignation of Jade Kiser. Jade has an exciting opportunity ahead of her next year in an Autism classroom.

GLA Testing

Here is the schedule for Monday one more time. After that, we will resume the normal bell schedule and students will test in their regular hours. If kids are nearing the end of a session as the bell rings and they want or you want them to finish up, hold them back or communicate with Crystal or me to take them to the library or an empty room to finish. If other concerns arise as we begin testing, please let us know.
