Letter from the Principal

Dear Lions Park Families,

It is hard to believe we are sending home second trimester report cards today! Our students and staff have been working very hard this year, and we are proud of their efforts. As you talk with your child about his or her report card, we suggest that you help him or her to identify areas they feel they did well and areas they might target for improvement. It is also important to discuss what may have contributed to success or challenges, so that they can brainstorm steps they can take to continue to grow and improve.

We will have our Club Photos on Tuesday morning at school. If your child is any music group or club, please send them to school ready to have their picture taken.

As part of the Board of Education discussion on mitigations for our schools going forward, it was decided that we will return to having students eat three feet apart at lunch. This is part of our constant review of mitigations related to case numbers. Starting on Wednesday, we will change lunch seats and have all students back at assigned seats at tables or desks three feet apart.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Katie Kelly

PEPS ANGST VIEWING

Thanks to everyone who came out to Lincoln for the screening of "Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety" and our enlightening panel discussion. It’s not too late to view this powerful new documentary! If you missed the in-person screening, you can still view the film on-demand through March 3. To watch the on-demand screening, please access the film at this link and select “Click Here for the Virtual Event.”

"Angst" is intended to start a conversation around the growing problem of anxiety. It features world champion swimmer Michael Phelps, experts in the field, and regular teens, who come together to explore the academic and social stress and pandemic fears and uncertainty that have increased mental health challenges among young people. The film breaks down what is currently going on and what young people can do to help themselves and others. It includes candid interviews and provides tips, tricks, strategies, and resources to help reset thinking patterns, push back against anxiety and support others.
