April 26 - Asynchronous Day for Non-Testing Students

April 26 will be our busiest testing day, with PSSA, SAT and Nocti exams all occurring at once. In order for us to provide the most ideal testing environment possible on that day, all non-testing students will stay home and have asynchronous assignments.

The following groups of students will be testing. Be aware their attendance in-person is mandatory:

All students in Grade 7

All students in Grade 8

All students in Grade 11

10th Grade students who receive SAT invitations

12th Grade students who are enrolled in CTE Programs (Engineering or Communications Technology)

If you have questions about whether your student should report to school on April 26, please contact Ms. Memon (, Ms. Turner-Wright ( or Ms. Hargadon ( You can also call the office at 610-447-3650.

Transportation for April 26

For students who are attending on April 26, regular transportation will be provided. CUSD buses will complete their usual morning pickup and afternoon drop-offs.

Students who are in the building will eat lunch at the conclusion of their exams, then attend classes during the afternoon.

Seniors who are in the building (those taking the NOCTI Performance Exam) may be dismissed at the conclusion of their exam with parent permission. Permission slips will be provided to those students. Normal parent pickup procedures will be followed for all other students.

PSSA exams measure student learning in English and Math for students in grades 3-8, plus Science for 4th and 8th Graders. Here at STEM, our Middle Schoolers will begin their PSSA's with English next Tuesday, April 26.

STEM Juniors will take the SAT in school on Tuesday, April 26. For many of them, this will be their first experience taking this exam. We have been working hard to prepare them here - please make sure your 11th Grader is ready to go on the 26th.

NOCTI Exams - CTE Seniors

Seniors enrolled in Engineering and Communications Technology programs will be taking their NOCTI exams in April as well. The performance tasks will take place on April 26, and the written exams on April 27 & 28.

AP Exams

Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses will also have their culminating exams in May. If your student is in an AP class, ask them when their exam will be taking place. Remember, a passing grade (3 or higher out of 5) in an AP course results in college credit!

4th Quarter is Underway

We are now well into the 4th Marking Period. For students who need to maintain or improve their grades, this is the time to put forth maximum effort. As the weather turns nice, there will be distractions, however we all need to encourage students to put their academics first. We want to make sure all our students finish the year on a positive note!

Home Access Center (HAC) Sign-Up

The HAC is where you will find your student's report cards and interim reports. Not only that, visiting the HAC will allow you to check your student's grades and attendance on a daily basis.

If you do not have your HAC set up yet, email Ms. Misha Memon ( She will reply with your username, password and a link to the log in page.
